Sometimes I dabble in C. Here’s some of the things I have done! The links go to a pastebin of the code.
Chess: This is, like the name suggests, chess. You put in standard algebraic notation, and a move will be made on the board. It’s not a perfect code – there are some things it doesn’t do – but I’m happy with what it does do.
Day of the Week: I made this one pretty quickly to help me practice my memorisation of the Doomsday algorithm. There are two options – inputting the date or randomising it (in which case, it will give a date somewhere between 01/01/1000 and 31/12/2499). Once you have the date, it will time you to see how long it takes you to enter a day, which in this case is a number – 0 being Sunday, 1 being Monday, and so on to 6 being Saturday. Run it in your command prompt; it’s not like Chess or Mandelbrot where it keeps repeating until you exit, it shuts down once there’s been a guess.
Mandelbrot: This code generates a Mandelbrot set, that you can zoom in or out on, move left and right, etcetera. Press H to see more about it!
